The Basics
Cannabis Flower
Flower, bud, ganja, or marijuana refers to the part of the mature buds and flowers of the female cannabis plant. Cannabis flower contains a high concentration of cannabinoids and compounds and can be consumed in various forms.
Terpenes
Aromatic compounds in cannabis that influence the plant’s scent, flavor, and potential effects.
Cannabinoids
Naturally occurring compounds in cannabis that interact with your body’s endocannabinoid system to produce various effects.
Sativa
Cannabis flower classified as Sativa typically delivers uplifting, energizing effects, and many Sativas in Michigan feature high THC potencies.
Indica
A cannabis flower type known for its calming, body-relaxing effects. It is known to be effective for nighttime or evening use.
Hybrid
A flower classification that’s a cross between sativa and indica varieties, combining traits from both types of cannabis for balanced effects.
The Entourage Effect
The concept that cannabinoids and terpenes work better, and more specifically together, when consumed, enhancing the plant’s overall therapeutic effects.
Endocannabinoid System (ECS)
A complex cell-signaling system in the human body. The ECS influences and interacts with many physiological processes and systems, helping regulate mood, sleep, appetite, and more. When cannabis interacts with the ECS and its receptors, unique effects and responses occur.
Cannabinoids
THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol)
The primary psychoactive cannabinoid in cannabis that is responsible for the high effects you feel from consuming.
CBD (Cannabidiol)
CBD, a non-intoxicating cannabinoid, often supports relaxation, relieves discomfort, and promotes overall wellness without causing a high.
CBG (Cannabigerol)
Known as the “mother cannabinoid,” CBG is the precursor to most cannabinoids. Its research shows it may support mood, focus, and digestive health.
CBN (Cannabinol)
This is a mildly psychoactive cannabinoid often associated with sedation and sleep support. You’ll find many sleep-related products from our dispensary menu include CBN.
THCV (Tetrahydrocannabivarin)
THCV is a rare cannabinoid found scarcely in cannabis and hemp. This cannabinoid may help with appetite control and focus, sometimes found in cannabis products for energy on our MI cannabis menu.
THCA (Tetrahydrocannabinolic Acid)
This is the raw, precursor of THC. It’s in a form of THC that becomes psychoactive when heated (decarboxylated).
CBDA (Cannabidiolic Acid)
This precursor to CBD is found in raw cannabis. Like the process of THCA, it’s a process of decarboxylation to become CBD. This cannabinoid is known for its potential anti-inflammatory properties.
Cannabis Product Categories

Concentrates (Solvent & Solventless)
Concentrates are a type of cannabis product where the plant is extracted of all cannabinoids, terpenes, and compounds and created into a concentrated form. The process of cannabis extraction is what defines the concentrate type. However, all either use chemicals (solvent) or avoid them (solventless) to isolate cannabinoids and terpenes.
Tinctures
Liquid cannabis extracts taken under the tongue (sublingually) for fast-acting, smoke-free relief. This consumption method allows cannabis to absorb under the tongue, offering quicker onset and precise dosing. Many cannabis tinctures feature specific cannabinoids and ratios to deliver targeted effects and experiences.
Pre-Rolls
Pre-rolls are ready-to-smoke joints filled with ground cannabis flower, perfect for on-the-go convenience. Pre-roll packs are available and shareable, and some infused pre-rolls include added kief, live rosin, or a concentrate to the flower in the pre-roll.
Topicals
Lotions, balms, and salves are types of cannabis infused topicals that are designed for localized relief on the skin or source. Many topicals contain cannabinoids that deliver targeted support and specific effects.
Edibles
Edibles are a category of cannabis-infused food and beverages. From infused chocolates, fruit-forward THC gummies, or the many innovative products on our edibles menu, there are many ways to eat your weed! Edibles deliver long-lasting effects because the body digests and processes them through the gastrointestinal system.

Ways to Consume Cannabis
Bowl
A handheld pipe used to smoke cannabis flower in small portions. Bowls for smoking cannabis can come in many fun, creative, and innovative shapes and sizes!
Blunt or Joint
This is when cannabis flower is rolled using cones, rolling papers or blunt wraps (where the tobacco is emptied). Smokers often use a crutch or tip to protect the burn of the joint or blunt.
Bong
Similar to bowls, a bong is a water pipe that filters and cools cannabis smoke for smoother inhalation. It’s a cannabis accessory that comes in many innovative shapes, sizes, and materials (glass, silicone, metal).
When you light the bowl of a bong, the smoke builds up in the chamber, and you inhale through the stem (uptake tube) from the mouthpiece and inhale. A carburetor (carb hole) is a small hole on some bongs that help with the airflow.
Dab Rig
This is another glass water pipe used to smoke cannabis concentrates. To smoke a dab, you need a torch or lighter to heat the dab nail to your desired temperature (this ranges depending on concentrate type). After heating, wait at least 60 seconds to avoid burning your concentrate. Then, place a small amount of cannabis concentrate on the nail using a dab tool and inhale through the mouthpiece. Keep your dab rig clean with a cotton swab or wipe between each use for best results.
Vaping
This consumption method involves vaporizing cannabis concentrates through a vape pen or device. Cannabis vapes on our MI menu are available as all-in-one, disposable uses or come in 510 threads or pods.
